Have You Hugged A Veteran Today?

In the U.S., Veteran's Day (and the Marine Corps Birthday) are coming up next week.  While American's are enthusiastically honoring those who are serving or have served our country (almost bordering on pandering at times), I don't see that attitude reflected often in SL.  That's why I was sooo excited to see that LaVian&Co has created a marvelous set of gift jackets representing each branch of the Armed Services as part of their new line of male fashion. The new group -- LaVian&Co Male costs 99L to join but look at what you get (in addition to other free gifts) for just 1/10 the price of one of those fancy penises boys!

Now I only have one tiny observation/complaint: Why is this limited to their men's group? Women serve just as equally and deserve to be just as honored, or have family/friends in the military they'd love to show their support for.  I'd love to see the jackets put out in a female version in their incredibly generous gift section, too.

Now...on to more mundane topics...pantyhose.  Yep girls (and guys?), we love to hate 'em but they ARE a fashion necessity.  While it's true they are less uncomfortable in SL than RL, it can be a real challenge finding a decent pair at a decent price -- doubly challenging if you add slink feet/mesh body appliers to the equation.  (By decent, I mean the everyday kind you would wear to work...not the dark seamed, super shiny or sparkly types more suited for an evening party or hanging out under your favorite lamp post!  A hint here ladies -- you should wear a shade of pantyhose the way you wear perfume, meaning they should make someone wonder if you are wearing any!)

My new, most favorite pair are from Secrets in Silk. The owner, who get's super high marks for customer service and friendliness, only has a marketplace store but I'd love to see her open a small shop inworld someday (maybe with mm's, hunts, lucky chairs and group gifts of course)!  The texture, hue and detail are impeccable AND many have feet and/or body appliers, too.  Here I am modelling the designer's Sheer Beige Seamless Pantyhose wearing my new Slink Physique body. They come in a variety of shades with all the appliers at a modest 149L each (or there's a fatpack of 8 colors for 549L).

Women have been wearing the uniform since the early days and should always receive the same respect as the men. This coming from a Vet who knew many service women then and many female Vets now.
